Vedha Trust (“the Trust”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through vedhatrust.org, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
1. Information we collect
- Donation details you share through our payment details form: name, mobile number, email, PAN, address, amount, date and mode of payment, transaction ID / UTR and any message.
- Book Your Day bookings: sponsor name, mobile number, email, date to be booked, amount, transaction or Razorpay payment ID, PAN (optional), address, occasion, and any photo and display name you upload.
- Reviews: your name, place, email, mobile number, rating, review text and any photos or videos you add.
- Messages you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Technical data such as your IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and performance.
2. Online payments
Online payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, net-banking or UPI PIN details. Razorpay shares with us the payment ID, amount, date and the contact details you enter on its payment page, which we use to record your donation and issue a receipt. Razorpay’s own privacy policy applies to the data you give it.
3. How we use your information
- To record donations, issue receipts and, where you give your PAN, issue Section 80G receipts and file the statements of donations required under the Income-tax Act, 1961.
- To confirm and arrange Anna Seva sponsorships booked through Book Your Day, including calling you to confirm.
- To display, with your consent, your chosen name and photo in connection with a sponsored day, and to publish reviews after checking them (only your name, place, rating, review and media are shown; your email and mobile are never published).
- To reply to your messages and keep you informed about our work, if you ask us to.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our records (our website host, Razorpay, and Google, whose Gmail, Drive and Sheets services we use to store donation and booking records), with the Income Tax Department where the law requires, and with authorities when required by law.
5. How long we keep it
Donation and receipt records are kept for as long as required under the Income-tax Act and other applicable laws. Booking and review data is kept while it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and then deleted.
6. Cookies and embedded content
This site uses only the cookies needed for it to work and to load pages quickly. Pages may show content embedded from Instagram, YouTube or Google; those sites may set their own cookies under their own policies.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent you have given (for example, to show your photo), or raise a grievance. Some records must be kept by law even after an erasure request. Write to us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
Our website is not meant for children to submit personal data. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including secure (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to our records, to protect your data. No online service is completely secure, so please contact us at once if you think your data has been misused.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
